We will dive into colourful stories, enjoy art and craft and move our bodies to musical rhythms. These are just a few of the exciting activities we will share together as we explore language, expand our imaginations and build social and emotional confidence.

  • Forum: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.00 am | 11.30 am – 1.30 pm

Kaka is a small forest animal, with strong teeth, who loves to help others. But what exactly is Kaka’s special talent that enables him to help so many of his animal friends? Let’s find him and ask!

In this literacy-focused holiday programme for nursery level children we will explore Chinese language in creative ways that encourage listening and speaking skills. Children will absorb vocabulary naturally by diving into storybooks and playing fun word games – excellent ways to strengthen their memory and powers of observation too! They will practise using the language they learn during drama and create their own little storybook to take home at the end of the week.

Discovering the Seasons

  • Language Learners | Kindergarten 1 and 2 | 5 years – 6 years
  • Forum: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.00 am | 11.30 am – 1.30 pm

Our young friend has invited us to take a stroll with her as she travels through the different seasons, learning about their unique characteristics and the stories they have to tell. The beautiful flowers of spring, the happiness of a summer day, the stunning colours of falling autumn leaves and cool white winter snow – just some of the wonders of nature we will discover together as we explore this amazing world around us.

As kindergarteners learn about the seasons through interactive stories, word games and exciting drama activities, they will hone listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese. They will discover the joy of sharing stories together in small groups, as they practise expressive reading. And they will develop their ability to compose Chinese characters, idioms and sentences with confidence and skill, as part of their ‘seasonal’ discoveries.

Come join us! We can’t wait to stroll through the seasons with you!

The Careless Little Bat

  • Chinese Cultural Arts | Nursery 1 and 2 | 3 years – 4 years
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.00 am | 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

Little Bat lives happily in the forest with his mother. Although he is very clever, he is often careless. One day, whilst playing with his friends – Little Swallow, Little Duckling, Little Frog and Little Bee – Little Bat decides he wants to learn each of their skills. There’s one problem though, Little Bat just can’t take things seriously enough! Oh dear! Can you help Little Bat improve?

Our unique Chinese Cultural Arts programme for young preschoolers cultivates an understanding of Chinese culture through dynamic stories, lively dance routines, nursery rhymes and traditional ink painting. Every activity is designed to immerse your child in the richness of Chinese, honing their listening skills, increasing their understanding of language in context, and building their confidence to speak in Mandarin.

Little Panda’s Shop

  • Chinese Cultural Arts | Kindergarten 1 and 2 | 5 years – 6 years
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.00 am | 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

Little Panda likes to help his mummy in their forest convenience store. He is a very smart and capable little panda and assists Mummy Panda with all sorts of different tasks. But when some customers arrive one day with special requests, how does Little Panda cope? Is he able to help all the customers get what they want – or do things go terribly wrong? Let’s visit the store together to find out!

In this Chinese Cultural Arts programme, every activity is designed to inspire children’s curiosity about Chinese culture and language in the most creative and enjoyable ways. As your child experiences language in action through drama, traditional Chinese songs, ink painting, dance and more, they will increase their ability to communicate in Mandarin with colour and confidence.

The Heart of the Forest

  • Language Skills | Primary 1 – 2 | 7 years – 8 years
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.30 am | 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm

The annual carnival has arrived, hooray! All the animals sing and dance excitedly, until suddenly, an evil wind monster bursts into the celebrations and steals the ‘heart of the forest’. With their beautiful home destroyed and thrust into darkness, the animals must summon the courage to embark on an adventure to save the ‘heart of the forest’, restoring peace and light once more to their jungle home.

Sharing ideas, scripting an original drama in Chinese and expressive oral exercises help improve vocabulary and enrich children’s ability to organise language effectively, fostering the confidence to communicate in Mandarin at a deeper level. This holiday adventure encourages children to think independently, put forward their ideas, and to collaborate considerately within a small group.

Get ready for a great adventure!

Mysterious Nocturnal Animals

  • Language Skills | Primary 3 – 4 | 9 years – 10 years
  • Rochester Mall: 9.00 am – 11.30 am | 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm

During the quiet of night, nocturnal creatures creep out while we are sleeping. What do they do? Where do they go? Wouldn’t it be amazing to find out! Imagine what it might be like to be an animal exploring the hours of darkness. Join us for this exciting and creative holiday programme when we will take a nocturnal adventure together!

This is a great opportunity for primary students to explore the world of natural science, discovering interesting facts about the behaviour and habitat of nocturnal wildlife. Putting their knowledge, interests and artistry to task, they will then create their own shadow puppets and script a drama performance to perform at the end of the week. In addition to exploring their individual creativity, students will discover the benefits of working together as a group, sharing ideas and expanding their Mandarin communication skills.

A mysterious night-time world awaits. We hope you’ll join us for the adventure.
