A long time ago, a monster used to come out at night to destroy people’s homes and eat their livestock. A group of warriors took up the challenge of defending the people and taking on the monster.
In learning about this folk story, children are introduced to Tang Poems, Chinese Kung Fu and traditional Chinese dance, developing their interest in Chinese culture while expressing themselves in Mandarin through drama activities.
The Hunter’s Adventure猎人历险记

Do you know what pictograms are? Not only do they look interesting, they also possess magical powers that can help avert danger! During this holiday period, children follow a brave hunter on an exciting forest adventure and experience the mysterious world of pictograms.
Students in this programme learn about pictograms and come to understand the evolution of Chinese characters. Through activities including drama, storytelling, speech exercises and prop-making, children develop an understanding of the standard structures of Chinese characters and the correct way to write them. They also stretch their imagination and creativity while increasing their confidence in expressing themselves in Mandarin.

The Evolution Of Chinese Characters汉字变变变

Each Chinese character has its own long history. Do you know how Chinese characters evolved from simple pictures into what they are today? Follow on an adventure back in time to ancient history and trace the evolution and development of Chinese characters, learning about the characters’ origins and exploring the secrets they contain.
In this programme, students learn about the evolutionary history of Chinese characters and ancient typography. Their imagination and creativity are inspired through speech and drama activities, appreciation of ancient and modern writing and trying out typography. Each child’s understanding of Chinese characters, reading comprehension and writing ability is strengthened.
