Workshop 1: Learning English through the Arts (with Ice Cream, DIY Robots & creating your own comic strip!
18 Dec to 20 Dec (Mon to Wed), 9 to 12pm

Monday, Day 1 “My secret Ice-Cream recipe!”
Lesson Objective: Create your own special ice-cream recipe and learn to write a Food blog post on why your ice-cream shop is better than other existing shops. Practise creativity, imagination, and persuasive writing!
- 9.00am- 9.30am: Basics of Ice-Cream making
- 9.30- 10.00am: Create your own secret recipe
- 10-10.30am: Prepare the secret ingredients
- 10.30- 11am: Mixing time!
- 11-12pm: Tell how your Ice-Cream tastes in your “Foodblog” post!
Tuesday, Day 2 “Meet Mr Robot, My hero!”
Lesson Objective: Deisgn your own special Robot Light-Up Canvas and learn to develop a plot in narrative writing that is creative and imaginative.
- 9.00am- 10.30am: Design Your Own Robot Light-up Canvas
- 10.30am- 12.00pm: Creative English Writing
Using the robot character they have formed, participants will be taught how to brain storm and write a story development.
Wednesday, Day 3 “My Own Comic Strip! I can be the next Stan Lee!”
Learning Objective: Design your own comic strip onto a Tote bag and learn about creative expression and phrases.
- 9.00am- 10.00am: Create your own comic character and comic strip
- 10.00am- 11.00am: Creative expression and phrases
- 11.00am-12.00pm: Transfer their comic character and phrases onto the tote bag.
Who is the workshop suitable for?
This Learning English through the Arts workshop is suitable for children aged 5-12!
Your child will learn to design, invent, brainstorm creatively and present solutions based on a design-thinking framework. Fun-filled, innovative holiday workshop focuses on learning through play! Holiday workshops will teach English using fun yet effective learning concepts.
