Rigoletto: A Tale of Love and Fate

Come experience one of Guiseppe Verdi’s masterpieces - Rigoletto, with a new modern, Asian twist.

Starring two leading actors with powerful voices: Palang Rocksilp, a Thai male opera singer who is very famous in China as a singer & actor, will play the role of Rigoletto; and Tae Miyata, a Japanese female opera singer who has appeared in multiple performances regionally, will play the role of Gilda.

Set in the infamous backstreets of Silom, The Duke of Mantua takes on a new life as the Duke of Makkasan who is the charming yet unscrupulous owner of a club called “Club Revenge”.

Rigoletto, The Duke’s jester now reimagined as his Driver that also works in the Dukes’s club to entertain his guests and play the fool. With many characters now embodying the colorful cast of Bangkok’s nightlife, but still conveying the same captivating story.

The core story, however, remains a tragedy of seduction, parental love, and vengeance.
