- Day 1 - Virtual Coding with Scratch: Balloon Pop Activity
Day 1 of Virtual Coding with Scratch will begin with a brief summary of what students can expect along with some introductory definitions to begin them down the path of learning about coding and creating interactive games using Scratch. Within this first class, students will be learning about the video sensing function in programming and creating their own interactive video game. Following a few demonstrations, they will be challenged with creating a balloon pop game using basic scratch components and sprites. They can expect to work for roughly 45-60 minutes on this activity.
- Day 2 - Virtual Coding with Scratch: Creating own Musical Instrument
Students will dive deeper into the Scratch platform and video sensing by designing and creating their own musical instruments! Day 2 of Virtual Coding with Scratch will allow students to discover how programming can help us recreate the sounds of musical instruments. They will work to design and program their own unique drum set. Students will be utilizing the video sensing function in Scratch to test various sounds, speeds, and even pitches to create their very own musical instrument that can be played just by using their webcam! Students can expect to work again for roughly 45-60 minutes on this activity.
