Grandparents play an important role in families as they nurture and impart life values to us. In celebration of Grandparents’ Day on Sunday, 26 November, let’s thank grandparents for all they have done for the family.

They have prepared loads of memorable activities and games! Enjoy a free and easy picnic on the Museum's front lawn. Check out the highlights below!

Highlights
- FFL "My Family" Drawing Competition – Glass Atrium, Level 2 For budding children artists, come and join in the FFL "My Family" Drawing Competition! Draw a picture of your family and stand to win attractive prizes! Please indicate your child’s interest during registration. Children who have registered for the competition will be able to collect the drawing paper on-site. For ages 3 - 6 years old and 7 - 10 years old. (Please note: Participants must submit the entry on the drawing paper provided. Participants must bring your own colouring and drawing materials as these will not be provided.)
- Witness to War: Remembering 1942 (Exhibition) – Exhibition Galleries, Basement Level Hear first-hand accounts form ordinary men and women whose lives were upheaved by the outbreak of hostilities in Singapore in 1942, in the blockbuster exhibition, Witness to War: Remembering 1942. This exhibition also feature artefacts from 10 overseas museums and institutions.
- Family Workshop – My Favourite 80’s Show! - Outside Voices of Singapore Gallery, Level 2 Create your own personalised “television set” featuring your favourite 1980s TV programmes and your child’s favourite cartoons, and illustrate a storyline with your young one and bring it to life on your TV box!
- Movie Screening “ The Kid from the Big Apple” - Gallery Theatre, Basement Level Wind down and enjoy the movie THE KID FROM THE BIG APPLE 《我来自纽约》about a little girl brought up in New York who goes and stay with her traditional Chinese doctor grandfather in Malaysia for the first time. This film not only explores the theme of cultural differences and generation gaps, but also carries a strong message behind the film: Love in a Family.
- Signature Families for Life Mobile Cafe - Bus Bay, Level 2 Look out for the Families for Life signature mobile café for complimentary snacks and drinks and play as a family at the fun games and activities!
There will be lots of other fun family-friendly activities such as bouncy castles, music performances and exhibitions around the National Museum.
