The Parent-Coach Dialogues

The Parent-Coach Dialogues

A Parent-Coach is a steadfast guide and inspiring mentor to a child for life

Every child is unique, with their own personality – and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. In the Parent-Coach Dialogues, parents will learn how to take a targeted and intentional approach when parenting each unique child. Each session is led by a Family Coach, who will help parents explore their current parenting challenges, introduce innovative approaches and provide useful feedback to develop real solutions and actions to bring about lasting change in the way you parent!
Core Dialogue 1 (8 Feb 2020) | The Parent Species: Becoming the Parent You Want to Be
Every parent desires to be a great parent, and to raise a happy and successful child.

But our parenting journeys may begin differently - Some carry baggage from our own families, some are used to stern approaches, others struggle with discipline. Whichever stage of parenting you are at, we will help you identify your style, adjust parenting habits and grow to become a parent-coach. So think about it, what type of parent do you want to be? In this session, we will help you to understand the type of parent you are and why, so that you can parent your child more effectively.

Core Dialogue 2 (15 Feb 2020) | C.S.I. (Child Species Investigation): Bringing out the Best in Your Unique Child
Every child is unique. Now that you know your parenting style, discover your child's personality type. Understand how they are wired so you can better parent them. Also, learn how you can set the foundations for your child to feel right, think right and act right. Through this dialogue session, you will learn to recognise your child's strengths and weaknesses and get fresh perspectives on how to work with them, not against them.

Core Dialogue 3 (22 Feb 2020) | Creative Correction: How to Make Discipline Firm and Friendly
It is not always easy to stay calm when disciplining your child, especially when emotions like anger and frustration get in the way. In this session, you will learn how to keep your emotions in check and model for your child the kind of behaviour you wish to see. In a challenging situation with your child, how can you be firm and friendly?

Core Dialogue 4 (29 Feb 2020) | High-5s @ Home: Nurture the Parent-Child Relationship
Having a loving and safe environment at home will help your child grow to become an assured, confident and responsible adult. Great parent-child relationships don't just happen; they require intentional effort and time to build. We all love our children and desire to build a strong relationship with them, but does your child actually know that he/she is loved?
