Why is Stridy fundraising for Ground-Up Initiative (GUI)?

GUI's current lease is scheduled to end and they need your support to make their next chapter a reality in Singapore – to move to a new piece of land and rebuild from the ground-up. GUI is fundraising to rebuild its current operations from the ground-up. It is estimated that $4.5 mil is required for the move. Hui Ying, who was previously working in the core team of GUI, seeks to tap into GUI's 1000 connections where each connection can donate $1000, harnessing the power of collective action to support the move!

Collective action is the underpinning of both GUI and Stridy. GUI leads the charge in creating vibrant spaces for sustainable living and inspiring communities. With your donation, we hope GUI continues to fan the fire within our hearts in creating a supportive and interdependent community. Let’s join forces in building a thriving community together!

Inspired by Hui Ying's citizen initiative of #1000GUIConnections, Stridy will be running their first ever paid open clean up, channeling 100% of donations to GUI for this impending move.

Date: 8 & 29 September 2024 (Sunday)
Time: 9am to 11am
Starting Point: Khatib MRT
Ending Point: Kampung Kampus, home of Ground-Up Initiative (GUI)
Donation: $20 or more per pax per session - 100% of donations will go directly to GUI via Ray Of Hope!

We will start our time together by gathering at Khatib MRT Station. We will stride and clean up as we walk around the neighbourhood of Khatib.

We will end our clean up by walking back to the Kampung Kampus, home of Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), where we'll have a time of connection over some simple refreshments.

Carry light and dress like you're headed outdoors!
