Early childhood is a period of rapid growth and an important phase for developing eating habits because the dietary behaviors acquired during the early years of life can extend to adulthood.
Food fussiness and food neophobia are known to peak between the ages 2 and 5 years; however, children in this age group are also open to acquiring new food preferences.
Studies have shown that repeated exposure to vegetables can increase vegetable intake.
I will be hosting a series of Adventures in fruits & veggie land playdate where through taste exposure and experiential learning in a positive and supportive environment, I hope to reduce children food avoidance behaviors and promote familiarization and liking of unfamiliar foods in particular vegetables.
Join me in my playdate where we will also be developing their math and motor skills through games, and encouraging their imagination through crafts, story-telling and music & movement.
What we will be doing for the session:
- Circle song
- Parachute play
- Story-telling / dance & movement
- Learn about the different fruits & vegetables
- Cognitive development games
- Paint & build with vegetables (craft)
- Taste exploration with homemade veggie dish
Drinks , snacks and fruits & veggies will be provided.
