I Theatre is very happy to bring back one of the classic hit productions: Little Green Frog!
When Little Green Frog was presented for the first time, it got an astounding response from local audiences. So now, this classic Korean tale of disobedience and its consequences is back by popular demand after successful sell-out runs in April and September 2009.
This folk tale tells how a defiant Little Green Frog, Cheong Gae-guri (Chung Kayguri), always does the opposite of what his Mother tells him to. This constant disobedience has very unfortunate consequences that greatly affect and change the disobedient little frog for the better.
This famous folktale has successfully taught generations and generations of young Koreans the value of obedience.
With such a valuable lesson to learn, it is no wonder Brian Seward, Artistic Director of I Theatre, seized the opportunity to adapt this folk tale and turn it into another one of his masterpieces onstage. “Searching for an Asian story to adapt, with a fun and exciting storyline, but a clear message for the very young ones, I finally found the Little Green Frog – which has exactly the themes and lessons our target audience will appreciate,” says Seward, a playwright and director of over 60 theatre performances.
Together with his top team of composer Julian Wong and choreographer Cathy Kee, Seward has seamlessly woven live music, beautiful puppetry and live performance together to create Little Green Frog – a wonderful production that will both engage and teach valuable lessons.
Don’t miss this chance to catch Little Green Frog before he hops off for another few years!
