Open House @ India House
Rangoli workshop for adults and children, 4.30-6pm. Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form of creating colourful design motifs, which traces back to thousands of years. The workshops will be conducted by Stroke Arts Studio, Singapore-based artists.
Participants will learn new skills in craft and design, as well as take home a piece of work and expanded knowledge and appreciation of other cultures. Places are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
The Open House evening program will feature an exhibition of fresh flower chandeliers, lanterns, and ornaments.
From 7-8pm, Chan Wai Lim of Trigger Design Studio will speak about the 'Magic of Collaborations' based on the studio's work with the Indian product design company Arttdinox.
The talk will discuss the IDF Singapore initiative of pairing the Singapore industrial designer
with a large-scale Indian manufacturer to produce a series of interesting and playful design products.
