Inventive Makers
Medieval Inventors
In the absence of automation and hi-tech equipment, the people of the Middle Ages had to make use of all their ingenuity to get work done and protect their city. Problem-solving takes center stage as children are brought through a medieval-themed storyline and challenged to create working toy prototypes of catapults, drawbridges, towers, bow and arrow and other contraptions.
Island Survivor
The children will be immersed in an imaginary scenario of being stranded on an uninhabited island with limited food and resources. They will need to be creative and innovative and prioritize their options to create useful things that can help them tide through while waiting for help to arrive.
A problem-based learning methodology will be adopted for this program. Whether it is to build a bridge or a zip line to cross the river, a weighing machine to ration food, or a water wheel to harness the energy from the running stream, kids will enjoy a journey of hands-on creativity to invent working prototypes.
Intricate Builds
This program is specially designed for kids who are avid STEM builders to create some challenging toy models using Thinkertoyland®.
It requires focus and critical thinking to solve problems that could emerge at every weak link in the process of building. It requires the builder to adopt the engineering design process, especially the iteration of test, observation and adjustment.
