Tradition and Creativity: Calligraphy Works of Goh Yau Kee


Tradition and Creativity: Calligraphy Works of Goh Yau Kee is a solo debut exhibition by Goh Yau Kee, a locally trained Chinese calligrapher.

 

Showcasing more than 100 of his calligraphy pieces. Centered around the theme "Movement", Goh Yau Kee's exhibition aims to express the fluidity of the cursive script. Using both creative and traditional techniques, his works comprises of different calligraphy styles which include the cursive script, running hand and seal characters.

Debuting at the age of 70, Yau Kee hopes to share his love for the art with the public and inspire those who are interested in Chinese calligraphy to appreciate it more or to pursue it more seriously, and to also reach out to those who are not acquainted with the art yet to pick it up as a new hobby.

Tradition and Creativity: Calligraphy Works of Goh Yau Kee will be displayed at the ION Art gallery from 28 February to 6 March 2018.
