The Overseas Family School, in partnership with Kids DiscoveryWorks, is proud to offer exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) holiday camps to Kindergarten and Elementary school children.
Space Camp
Eligibility: Kindergarten 1 to Grade 3
Dates/Time: 15 to 18 April, 9am to 12pm
Launch aspiring astronauts and astronomers on a space exploration adventure! Through engaging hands-on experiments and STEM challenges, young scientists will learn about Earth, space and our solar system. Kids will have a blast:
- Exploring Newton's Laws of Motion...with water rockets!
- Discovering the forces of aerodynamics...with straw planes, helicopters, parachutes & an egg drop challenge!
- Learning about the different planets of our solar system and the engineering challenges of space travel, and more!
Junior C.S.I
Eligibility: Grade 1 to Grade 6
Dates/Time: 15 to 18 April, 1pm to 4pm
Who doesn’t love a good mystery? In this forensic science camp, children will try their hands at scientific crime-solving and learn all about forensic investigation activities, e.g. crime scene processing, ngerprinting techniques, genetics, DNA testing and more. Children will have the opportunity to develop their observation, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
Children will have fun:
- Learning about fingerprints and their role in crime-solving, and lifting their own fingerprints!
- Exploring genetics and DNA testing...with strawberry DNA and monster genetics!
- Discovering forensic chemistry and using chemical reactions to decipher hidden messages and identify unknown substances collected from a crime scene!
- The pros and cons of eyewitness testimony, and more!
