Their curriculum at KidsKingdom, The KinderSmart Thinkers Learning System, is designed for the holistic development of pre-schoolers. It addresses all the six learning domains identified by the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Curriculum (2012), which are critical to a child's holistic development, namely:
- Language and Literacy - Their language and literacy programmes (English Language and MTL) help pre-schoolers develop competence in speaking, listening and in becoming readers and writers by immersing them in a literary -rich environment.
- Numeracy - At KidsKingdom, learning experiences for numeracy are progressively-planned to nurture the pre-schoolers’ interest and help them attain a firm foundation in mathematical concepts and skills. KinderMath has a strong emphasis on the mastery of numeracy through hands-on activities. Through manipulation of pictures and symbols, pre-schoolers notice relationships between groups of things to be sorted, counted, shared and represented. Mathematical concepts are introduced via exciting songs and rhymes including interesting stories as a prelude to the activities.
- Social and Emotional Development - At KidsKingdom, learning experiences in this domain are planned to enhance children’s well-being and develop a positive sense of themselves in relation to their peers, family and community. They are provided with opportunities to work collaboratively in projects. Peer group interactions help to increase the children’s social competence, confidence and emotional maturity. Pre-schoolers are taught how to regulate and manage their feelings, thoughts and behaviours so as to have a positive impact on their physical and mental health and positive disposition to learn.
- Motor Skills Development - Learning experiences in this domain are planned to help pre-schoolers develop their physical skills, dexterity and fitness which will in turn influence the children’s health and mastery of self-help routines in their daily lives.
- Aesthetics and Creative Expression - Learning experiences in this domain are planned to encourage pre-schoolers to be expressive, creative and imaginative. Such experiences allow them to explore and appreciate elements of visual arts as well as music and movement. These fun experiences provide an avenue for children to express their creative ideas and feelings about themselves and the world they see.
