Santa's Holiday Academy: Ballet Basics with Yan Ballet Academy
The holiday programme for the 6 to 8 years old introduces them to the fundamentals of ballet, creative movement, spatial awareness, classical music appreciation and self expression. Children in this programme learn basic ballet movement and terminology through fun songs and the use of props. An array of activities is designed specially to capture their attention.
The programme for the 9 to 11 years old is at an introduction and knowledge building level. Students are taught the six basic foot positions, various jumps, turns, steps, a series of steps and leaps. It is a great exploration of foundation building class for terminology, strength, coordination and thinking. It’s the perfect experience for students who are new to ballet, or have few years of ballet experience. At the same time, it is also the beginning of a more serious approach to ballet and the discipline of dance as compared to the more playful Pre Ballet.
