Headteacher Lori Bormann and Aletia Gliomee, teacher at Lorna Whiston, will examine ways in which parents can help their children develop foundational reading skills and build a functional understanding of phonics.
The workshop will cover:
- Reading and understanding sentences
- Learning to predict words and meaning from context
- Using phonics to help decode new words
