Dive Into The Lunar New Year Festivities At Gong SEA Fa Cai



The Chinese deem water as a symbol of wealth.

 

To usher in a bountiful Year of the Dog, there’s no better place than at the S.E.A. Aquarium. They’ve lined up plenty of fun-filled activities for the whole family to soak in the festive cheer.

Underwater Dragon Dance: The Sea Dragon Rises

Singapore’s only underwater dragon dance returns with a celestial guest in tow – the Sea Goddess. Watch her perform alongside the dragon as she swims among her beloved marine animals.

Schedule:

  • Open Ocean Habitat – 1.30pm, 3.30pm daily
  • Shipwreck Habitat – 11.30am (Sat, Sun & Public Holidays)

Sea Goddess Storytelling Session

The Sea Goddess will be guiding the underwater dragon through various marine habitats before coming to a stop at the Ocean Dome where she will regale the story of the Fish of Fortune.

Schedule:

  • Ocean Dome – 12pm, 2pm, 2.45pm daily

Trail of Fortune

Embark on a trail of discovery at six areas that will showcase popular Lunar New Year traditions and beliefs. Uncover fun facts about marine life considered auspicious in Chinese culture, such as the sea dragon, and learn about the many ways to save the ocean, from reducing plastic waste to saying ‘no’ to shark fins.

You can also read up on the 12 zodiac animal signs accompanied by their symbolic attributes, and their corresponding marine zodiac friends.

Did you know that hammerhead sharks swim on their sides to increase swimming efficiency? Learn about the latest shark discoveries, get an up-close look at the anatomy of a shark and more at this all-new zone dedicated to the one of the world’s most misunderstood animals.
