Perform in Sydney with MindChamps' Académie of Stars

Aspiring young actors will have the opportunity to perform on an international stage with the MindChamp’s Académie of Stars’ Theatre Journey to Sydney in December this year.

The theatre immersion camp is a collaboration with one of Australia’s leading performing arts schools, which boasts notable alumni such as Hugh Jackman.

MindChamps Académie of Stars, founded in 2018 and led by Chief Creative Officer and veteran thespian Kuo Po, is looking out for prospective students to join the stage in Singapore and Australia. “We want to present a platform for MindChampions to explore the world of theatre and music from a young age, to set ablaze their passion to perform,” says Kuo. “Students get to hone their skills from local industry professionals, and will also attend acting workshops and masterclasses by famed members of the Actors Centre Australia (ACA).” MindChamps Académie of Stars provides children with international opportunities to perform, getting them ready for college life in ACA and other established drama schools.

Aspiring actors that fall in one of the three age groups, 9 to 11 years old, 12 to 16 years old, and 17 years old and above, are welcome to apply and audition for the programme. Selected students will then have the opportunity to embark on the month-long programme which will see them push their creative limits, develop critical theatrical skills and experience performing on an international stage.

The month-long immersive programme will start off with acting workshops and rehearsals in Singapore running from 16 November to 8 December, with a public local performance set on 9 December. Students will then head over to Sydney to attend Actors Centre Australia’s (ACA) masterclasses from 12 to 15 December. The programme will end off with a public performance in Sydney on 16 December, where students will be able to demonstrate their finely honed theatre skills and gain exposure to a foreign audience.
