Join us for a fun family bonding session through sensory play at our Magic & Menaceexhibition! Start the session with a short self-guided tour of the gallery to discover the plants and animals of 19th-century Malay Peninsula. Then visit 7 activity stations to search for insects and feed "birds" at the sensory trays, create your own play dough collage with nature materials, paint with a "durian", build a bird’s nest, hunt for eggs, and make your own bird toy to bring home!

Toymaker: Make Your Own Wind-Up Space Shuttle by Amazing Art Shuttle

Intergenerational Art Jamming with Nature Sketcher Tham Pui San

Calling all grandparents/parents and children! Join nature sketcher Tham Pui San at the museum as he brings you through our Magic and Menace exhibition, and guides you on the techniques and skills of using crayon as a medium in drawing.

Timmy & Tammy Discover Singapore Hawker Food – Storytelling by author Lianne Ong

Hawker centres are a common fixture in Singapore today, but did you know that these vibrant food hubs did not always exist here? Discover some favourite hawker dishes and popular ingredients in this engaging children’s storytelling session and teaser to our upcoming Packaging Matters exhibition in April!
Each session is limited to 30 children on a first come, first served basis. On-site registration starts from 2pm beside the drop-in craft station at the Glass Atrium, Level 2.
About the Storyteller
Lianne Ong is a children’s author from Singapore. She is best known for her Stacey & the Museums series about museums in Singapore. Stacey Goes to the National Museum and Stacey Goes to the Peranakan Museum received the Second Prize award at the Samsung KidsTime Authors’ Awards 2015. Her new series, A Place for Us, is a six-title picture book series about special needs and will be released in 2019. For more information, visit www.lianneong.sg.

Visit our permanent galleries and play spot-the-artefact with our Early Learning Resources! These colourful booklets introduce pre-schoolers to our artefacts according to the themes of Numbers, Colours, and ABCs.
Available at $8 per set from the Museum Label shop, and a discounted price of $5 per set at our Glass Atrium booth on Family Fun days.
Moving Memories Art Installation and Activity Sheet for Families and Friends

Catch our special exhibition Moving Memories, which features a selection of Yip Yew Chong's life-sized murals. These murals seek to express the romance of "places and moments... that blend sights, sounds, smell and taste". Savour these moments of our tangible and intangible heritage, such as barbers in back lanes and fortune tellers, traditional kopi-making and road-side communal satay-eating, as they come alive through animation, soundscape and projection right here in our gallery. You can also pick up an Activity Sheet at the entrance and use the prompts to have some fun conversations with your family and friends!
