How does Singapore see itself? How do we present ourselves to the world, and how do others see us? Singapore has been described in many ways at different points of its history.
Through the Now Boarding: Experiencing Singapore through Travel, 1800s – 2000s travel-themed special exhibition, we will examine the ways in which Singapore has been presented to and perceived by travellers who have arrived on our shores.
While Singapore may have often been painted as an attractive, cosmopolitan and dynamic destination, you may have other impressions of your own. We invite you to join us in reflecting upon how Singapore is imagined and portrayed, and to share your own memories and experiences of this island-city.
This tour is conducted by the museum’s Care Facilitators and seeks to enable seniors, persons with dementia and their care partners to share their stories and experiences related to the exhibition and its artefacts.
