Celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival – otherwise also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival – is a joyous occasion to go on night walks with lanterns, and to eat mooncakes with friends and family under a full moon.
Let your child fully immerse in the celebrations this year with our Cyanotype Lantern Making Workshop, which will ensure an unforgettable Mid-Autumn Festival for them!
Through this workshop, your child will:
a) Showcase their creativity by making their own unique lanterns! They will learn how to expose and develop their own prints using cyanotype — a UV light-sensitive photo printing process which creates beautiful blue prints. In this workshop, your kids will make creative use of everyday objects and found materials to express themselves.
b) Develop a greater appreciation for one of the most celebrated festivals in Singapore. There will be an optional night walk around Objectifs Centre after the workshop in the evening.
No prior experience is required, suitable for ages 6 to 14.
