As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words!
Singapore continues to evolve even after 50 years of independence. Streets that you traverse daily may not be the same in the 5 years’ time. Photography remains the best way to collect and preserve memories of yesterday street scenes.
The National Day Photography Exhibition 2017 exhibits photographs of Singapore street scenes taken by community photographers and residents from all over the island.
These photos cover street scenes of neighbourhoods including natural features, built heritage and people. Visitors can also look forward to weekend photography workshops and activities.
These photos will form a collection under the National Archives of Singapore as a part of Singapore History to reminisce when we celebrate SG75 and SG100.
The National Day Photography Exhibition is a collaboration between People’s Association – PAssionArts, The National Archives of Singapore and Kolam Ayer Community Arts and Culture Club.
