Weave a narrative together to create a collaborate fabric collage, explore how textiles can enhance Playeum’s garden, and reuse and reinvent old clothes and accessories to create wearable technology using LED lights and more. Don’t miss this varied tapestry of activities, resulting in a camp that is bursting with invention and all about thinking outside the box.
Holiday camps at the Children’s Centre for Creativity provide a great opportunity for children to have unlimited access to all of the interactive spaces at the Centre, enjoy a hands-on workshop every morning, develop their creative ideas over the course of four days, and have fun!

Holiday camps at the Children’s Centre for Creativity provide a great opportunity for children to have unlimited access to all of the interactive spaces at the centre, enjoy a hands-on workshop every morning (described below), develop their creative ideas over the course of four days, and have fun! Snacks are also provided.
- Day One
Come weave together a narrative using different types of fabric and create your own stories. On the first day, children will have a conversation about the variety of textiles and its many uses. Then, explore how fabrics can be transformed into something uniquely new, from putting together an interactive cloth book to creating your own textile print design.
- Day Two
Explore how textiles can breathe new life in the garden by experimenting with textiles through waterplay and different dying techniques. Learn about weaving in the garden using all kinds of fabrics and natural materials like twigs and sticks, and come together to create a collaborative piece alongside the other holiday campers!
- Day Three
It is all about wearable technology on the third day of camp! Don’t throw away that old t-shirt you have lying in your cupboard. Take it apart and tinker with easy-to-use technology such as LED lights, simple circuits and batteries, and reinvent your old cloths to create wearable technology. See how technology can be infused into everyday items and explore how simple it is to create something completely new but fun at the same time!
- Day Four
On the last day, children will become curators in charge of setting up their own exhibition, as they gather together to prepare for a show & tell with their families. Children will be involved in putting together their work, getting involved in making their own signages from recycled fabric and textiles, and finally presenting their work to one and all.
