2-Day Camp: The Grinch Who Created Christmas

The Christmas holidays are almost upon us and who better to share about the joy of Christmas than the grouchy old Grinch!

Award-winning storyteller, Peilin, will share about the origins of Christmas and why practice traditions like exchanging presents or having a Christmas tree!

Your child will then be introduced to the fundamentals of using a sewing machine from the makers of Fashion MakerSpace. She will create her own Grinch crossbody bag to wear and wow at upcoming Christmas parties!

  • Time: 3pm – 6pm daily
  • Venue: 258A South Bridge Road, Singapore 058807

Day 1 of Camp:

In the story of ‘The Grinch Whole Stole Christmas’, the Grinch is annoyed by the noise from the feasting and celebrating of the townspeople. We discuss different types of feelings we can have, including those that make us feel uncomfortable like frustration and jealousy, as well as how we can cope with them.

After that, your child will design the face of her own Grinch bag! We will learn about different fabrics and prepare the bag-making materials together.

Day 2 of Camp:

We start the day with another story about the different types of feelings that we experience. Then, we roll up our sleeves and learn about how to use a sewing machine!

Your child will learn how to safely operate the machine and how to connect the parts of the bag, including how to hand stitch a button (which is a useful skill even in adulthood!) We end the session with a mini photoshoot of your child with her bag, for her to take home.
