The name “annular” comes from the Latin word for ring, “annulus”.
An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun's centre, leaving the Sun's visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon.
For the first time in many years, Singapore would be able to witness the Sun reducing to a Ring of Fire in the sky. Next will be in 2063.
Dozen telescopes will be set up in Science Centre's Ecogarden to share the magnificent view of the Sun with everyone.
Admission fee to Science Centre applies. Please purchase tickets @ Science Centre Singapore from 9 am onwards.
