Care To Go Beyond: The Healthcare Bus

Care To Go Beyond: The Healthcare Bus

It’s fun, it’s informative and it’s cool!

The Healthcare Bus will be at Science Centre Singapore (SCS) from 29 May to 4 June 2017, and it’s packed with interactive activity stations that help every “passenger” learn a little more about healthcare.

An initiative of the Ministry of Health’s Care To Go Beyond campaign, which aims to raise awareness and appreciation of the excellent work done by their nurses and allied health professionals, this air-conditioned bus will be parked next to the Ecogarden and Animal Zone Hall.

Capable of hosting up to 15 people at one time, the Healthcare Bus travels to secondary schools and selected public venues so that students and members of the public can take an entertaining and informative trip into the amazing world of healthcare. Their facilitators will guide you through the bus and assist with the activities on board.

Activities

From digitally donning a healthcare uniform to finding the correct vein in your patient’s arm, the Healthcare Bus gives you a taste of life in healthcare through eight interactive game stations. Upon completing all stations, each visitor can win a syringe-shaped pen!

1. The X-Factor

Injuries can be more than skin deep. Help your patients analyse their X-rays.

2. You Can Be An Angel Too

Uniforms make their healthcare professionals stand out. Wear yours with pride today!

3. Pedal Power

Every second counts in saving a life. Knowing what to do is crucial. Pedal forward! A life is literally in your hands.

4. Piece Me Up

Nurses and surgeons work together in operating theatres. Are you cut out for surgery? Place the body parts in the right positions.

5. Dare To Care?

Healthcare serves you 24/7. Nurses are there to care for people at every stage of their lives; from cradle to grave.

6. Pump It!

When someone has a sudden cardiac arrest, any delay in giving CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and applying the AED (Automated External Defibrillator) after his collapse reduces the chance of survival by 7 to 10%. Learn how to save a life in emergencies!

7. Get To The Point

A patient needs to be placed on an intravenous (IV) drip. Find the correct vein to save your patient’s life!

8. Have Your Shot At #Happinurse

Your shift is almost over. Submit your report for the day!
