This trip combines hands-on workshops, music masterclass, live performance experiences with South Korean students (in collaboration with our partner Piareno, who is also our partner for Seimpi Academy's SPAC K-Pop exam) and cultural activities to foster artistic growth and global connections.

Who is Coalesce designed for?
This Coalesce music immersion trip to Seoul is designed for students aged 18 and below, whether traveling independently or with parental accompaniment. It is also ideal for teachers who wish to bring their own students, fostering stronger bonds and camaraderie within their group. Apart from enhancing students' musical skills, teachers can also refine their teaching techniques through observation and meaningful interactions with experienced trainers in Seoul. Participation in the joint concert and masterclass is optional for the teacher.
Touchdown in South Korea's capital Seoul and start of your Coalesce experience. Check in to Mayplace Hotel, Seoul or equivalent.
- Day 1 : 11 June SINGAPORE / INCHEON
- Day 2 : 12 June (Music Immersion) (B/L/D)
Start the day with a tour of local university (eg Yonsei University). Brief exploration of the stunning campus and its music facilities.
National Gugak Center Experience The National Gugak Center (국립국악원) is a premier institution dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and education of Korean traditional music, known as Gugak. Established in 1950, it is located in the heart of Seoul and serves as a cultural hub for both locals and international visitors interested in Korea's rich musical heritage. Participate in a hands-on workshop focusing on Janggu (traditional Korean drum) and Samulnori (traditional percussion quartet). Learn basic techniques and rhythms, immersing yourself in Korean cultural music.
- Day 3 : 13 June (Music Immersion) (B/L/D)
Music Ensemble Session
This session introduces the practical application of ensemble skills, focusing on versatility in popular music genres or jazz improvisation. Students will learn chord progressions, rhythmic patterns, and live performance techniques.
Vocal Group Lesson
Led by expert instructor Mr. Lim Joon Kyung (View profile), this session focuses on harmonization, ensemble singing, and stage presence. Participants will develop their skills in blending voices and delivering dynamic group performances.

- Day 4 : 14 June (Music Immersion) (B/L/D)
Morning: Coalesce Joint Concert Rehearsal
A structured rehearsal session where participants collaborate to prepare for the afternoon’s joint concert. This session emphasizes teamwork, precision, and attention to detail for a polished performance.
Afternoon: Coalesce Joint Concert with Korean students at Yangju Arts & Culture Center
The program's highlight, where participants showcase their talents in a formal concert setting. This event provides invaluable experience in performing before an audience, boosting confidence and stage presence.

Piano Masterclass with Professor So Yoon Jung (View profile) at Bucheon Delight Hall
Participants will receive in-depth guidance from a professional pianist, focusing on techniques, interpretation, and performance skills. This masterclass is designed to help students elevate their piano playing, offering personalized feedback and real-time demonstrations. (*Students who play other instruments will receive separate masterclass)
Participate in a professional K-pop dance class led by experienced instructors. Dive into the vibrant world of K-pop with our exclusive dance lesson suited for all. Perfect for fans and aspiring dancers and beginners alike, this class offers a unique blend of culture and choreography.
- Day 6 : 16 June (Tour) (B/L/D)
Explore the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) – A Journey through history with an insightful and eye-opening tour of the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), one of the most significant and formidable borders in the world. This unique experience offers a closer look at the history, culture, and ongoing tensions between North and South Korea. Explore the Third Infiltration Tunnel, discovered in the 1970s and meant for North Korean incursions.Visit the Joint Security Area (JSA) at Panmunjom, where you can stand in both North and South Korea simultaneously and observe military personnel.
*In the event that the DMZ tour cannot proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, it will be replaced with a day tour to Nami Island and Petite France.
We will proceed to the Nanta Show in the evening, it is a non-verbal performance that is performed along a beat with skits. The show transforms kitchen utensils like knives and cutting boards into instruments and is a spectacular show to see! It has been running for 20 years since its first show in 1997
- Day 7 : 17 June (Tour) (B/L/D), Seoul / Singapore
Begin your day at Gwanghwamun, the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace. This iconic landmark symbolizes the historical heart of Seoul. Take a moment to enjoy the impressive architecture. Head to a nearby shop to wear a Hanbok, the traditional Korean attire. Explore Gyeongbokgung Palace, just a short walk from Gwanghwamun. Spend a leisurely time wandering through the beautiful grounds and discovering the history of the Joseon Dynasty, and the National Palace Museum of Korea located on the palace grounds. Next, to Bukchon Hanok Village, a picturesque area filled with traditional Korean houses (hanoks). Explore the narrow alleyways, enjoying the beautiful architecture, and taking photos of the quaint surroundings. We will also visit Seoul N Tower, and spend some time at the observation deck and take in the sights of the panoramic view of the city.
Some time for final shopping excursion and dinner before night flight back to Singapore.
* For participants of the Music Immersion part of Coalesce, you will be performing in the Masterclass and Concert. You can perform the same repertoire/or different repertoires for the Masterclass and Concert. Each performance must not be more than 5 minutes.
