These classes are suitable for babies from 4 months onwards and have been given the go ahead by their paediatrician or family doctor to start classes.
In this jolly group environment Mums/Dads/Caregivers go into the pool with the babies ensuring a calm baby and also creates a wonderful fun bonding time. The focus of the sessions is to become comfortable in water and to boost water confidence.
This program allows babies to explore and extend their abilities in water. The classes are built around fun games and singing; introducing concepts such as putting their face underwater, blowing bubbles and floating on their backs.
Babies are taught water safety skills, safe entrance and exit - in and out of the pool and some desensitising techniques and situations so your baby doesn’t panic in the water.
It is important to remember that each child is different and some babies will take to the water like the proverbial duck while others may take time, patience and lots of encouragement. Supervise your baby at all times, have fun and keep safety in mind.
- The sessions are short at 30 minutes so as not to tire your bub out. Don’t be surprised if they want a nap afterwards.
- Please bring a sun hat, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes for both you and your little one.
