For our Calmseekers series this Oct, we warmly invite you to turn the attention back to you in this special 2-part workshop series on Stress Relief with Tension Release Exercise (TRW).
Combining both theory and practice, this workshop series is designed to be experienced fully. Tension Release Exercise (TRE) is an effective way to discharge tension in the body safely and regulate the nervous system through the use of simple mat-based movement. People often report feeling more relaxed, open and rested at the end of a session. In its adoption around the world, it has been shown to help provide relief from anxiety, stress and insomnia, whilst easing physical tension.
This workshop is for you if you have:
- a stressful lifestyle
- chronic pain
- experienced any accident or surgical procedure
- given birth recently, whether vaginally or by Cesarean
… or if you have a body and would like to feel greater ease in your mind and movement!
We also welcome teachers of any profession and therapists who work with persons with trauma to come experience TRE for yourself. As a self-care practice it can be deeply nourishing especially if you frequently need to hold space for others.
In these sessions, you will:
- learn more about our nervous system and how it responds to stress
- understand the ways stress can build in the body
- understand how our brain draws connections to different parts of the body and why disconnection can occur
- experience a gentle TRE practice for each session
About the facilitator
Diana is a certified Trauma and Tension Release Exercise (TRE) provider. TRE has been a valuable way for her to safely relieve stress, regulate the nervous system and foster a reconnection to the body. She sees TRE as part of her explorations over the years of different movement traditions and her curiosity about the body and its wisdom. TRE also complements the other gentle and grounding holistic modalities of Jin Shin Jyutsu and Craniosacral Therapy which she offers to support a reconnection with clients' innate resources to return to a sense of wholeness.
