The Artground has a variety of age-specific drop-in programmes on the weekends that participants will get to enjoy!
From 30 August April 2018 to 6 January 2019, children between 0 – 12 years will get to experience play space HULLABALOO – an explosion of colours, patterns and shapes in a whimsical lanscape. Taking cues from the natural environment, Hullabaloo encourages children to see the space from different perspectives, imagine a world of magic, and immerse themselves in the kind of fun that beats at the heart of creativity. Entry into The Artground itself is free and donations are encouraged.
This weekend, we have an array of our regular age-specific drop-in programmes as well as Ticketed Performance – You Can Reach The Sky.
Ticketed Programmes
The Artground occasionally plays host to ticketed performances and workshops. Patrons are required to purchase tickets online if you’d like to attend.
Every weekend, The Artground organises a variety of age-specific drop-in programmes that participants will get to enjoy on a first come, first served basis. This weekend, come enjoy our 30 min drop-in programmes, charged at $10 per parent-child pair/ programme. You can purchase a single ticket at the queue or TAG cards for 5 or 10 + 1 sessions at $50 and $100 respectively at the reception. There is no registration for these activities as they are first come, first served. For these 30 min sessions, an announcement will be made 5 mins before each programme and the first XX number of children in the queue will get to enjoy the programme (XX refers to the age-specified & capacity of the programme, ie TUG is for the first 15 children between 18 – 30 months).
21st December, Friday
- 10.30am: Merry X'mas Little Creatures (All Ages): It’s the time of the year where Little Creatures gather with family, friends, loved ones and other creatures to celebrate love, peace, joy and merry – music making! Join Little Creatures in enjoying Christmas-inspired tunes, sing-along songs and jam with simple musical instruments!
- 11.30am: Storytelling with Roger Jenkins (4 - 8 years): One of Singapore’s most popular tellers and the founder of the 398.2 Storytelling Festival, returns to The Artground this wonderful holiday season.
- 12.30pm: [Groundbreakers Work-in-Development] Invisible Invincible Petite Preview by My SuperFuture (4 - 6 years, Free Open Rehearsal): We have a bag of everything that is full of “INVISIBLE” surprises. We need your imaginative help to fulfill some fun tasks! Let your children explore imagination through the medium of invisibility.
- 2.30pm: Christmas Fluffy Slime (4 years and up): A parent-accompanied craft session inspired by fun. In this session, be prepared to get messy as you make your own slime to take home in Chrismassy containers.
- 3.30pm: Merry Stockings (3 years and up): Express your creativity and create your own Christmas stockings using fabric scraps.
22nd December, Saturday
- 10.30am: Craftermusician by My Piano Room - Reindeer Roll Jingles (2 - 6 years): An exciting craft and music workshop rolled into one! Make your own music instruments and play on them immediately with our fun instructors! Be a craftermusician today!
- 11.30am: Merry Stockings (3 years and up): Express your creativity and create your own Christmas stockings using fabric scraps.
- 2.30pm: Baby Beat by Kulcha Pop (8 - 36 months): A cozy performance of classical music favourites with classic and ethnic instruments for the youngest of audiences. This session features Rozie on Er Hu and Zhong Hu and Stan on keyboard.
- 3.30pm: Thumpety Thump (5 years and up)
- 4.30pm: Fold, Crinkle, Roll by The Kueh Tutus (3 - 8 years): A dance-theatre performance for children aged 3 – 8 years that captures the challenges and possibilities in working with paper to engage the imagination. Let your imagination roam free with each fold or crinkle of paper…
23rd December, Sunday
- 10am, 12 pm: You Can Reach The Sky by The Wanderlings [Ticketed Performance, babies 0-24 months]: You Can Reach The Sky is a non-verbal, multi-sensorial theatrical experience for typical and atypical pre-walking babies. It follows the journey of a dandelion and its desire to reach the sky. The entire show is created from items that can be typically found at home, making it an easily-replicable experience for parents and babies. Book Tickets Here.
- 2.30pm: Terrific Tales by The Storytelling Centre Limited - Christmas Stories (3 - 7 years): The perfect introduction to the art of storytelling especially for little listeners, followed by a simple craft activity.
- 3:30pm: Dance Playground with Rolypoly Family (4 - 8 years): Dance Playground is where we explore dance and movement through unusual play structures and get (a little) messy. We play games that transform dance and movement into visual forms. What do wiggles, jiggles, and squiggles create?
