THIS SATURDAY | Live Performance “Sounds from/in the Archive” & Artist Panel with Curator—not to be missed!
- 16 November, Saturday
- 2pm - 4pm (90 min incl panel discussion)
- National Gallery Singapore, Rotunda Library & Archive
- DM @the_substation for free entry
In this one-of-its-kind activation and rare occasion to enter the quiet Rotunda Library & Archive on a weekend, sound artist Chong Li-Chuan and visual artist Urich Lau will present a performance followed by a dialogue with the curator, Dr Adrian Tan, as part of the ongoing exhibition, OPEN END: Resonate, Re-Read and Re-Trace The Substation Archive.
Drawn from The Substation Archive, experience and explore how the artists navigate the challenges of re-imagining the archive, develop creative strategies in selecting specific archival materials as both research and subject, and transform the library into a site of active interpretation and debate.
Join us as they delve into the concepts that drive OPEN END and the intricate process of integrating this artistic intervention within the library space.
Developed by Dr Adrian Tan and co-presented in conjunction with The Substation's #GatheringGround 2024, the exhibition is presented by @nationalgallerysingapore and supported by the Platform Projects Curatorial Award overseen by @ntu_ccasingapore.
