Watch nursery rhymes come to life as The Theatre Practice officially launches The Nursery Rhymes Project, a three-part initiative consisting an illustration and lyrics book, soundtrack and touring performance, on 5 November 2017.
Get ready for a fun-filled morning of exciting outdoor performances that will get you on your feet to sing and dance along!
Be one of the first to get your hands on “Paint Our Songs”, a book featuring Singapore illustrator Lee Kow Fong aka Ah Guo’s iconic illustrations inspired by the nursery rhymes, with a dash of local flavour.
The book also comes with a 12-songs soundtrack – “Sing Our Songs”, where classic nursery rhymes are spiced up with local leading musician Julian Wong’s new arrangements, and sung by local talents including recent Sing! China 2nd runner up Joanna Dong, singers and theatre performers Sugie Phua, Ethel Yap, Ric Liu and more.
Stand a chance to meet some of the creative team and performers, and get your book autographed at the launch.
Catch free outdoor performance of “Imagine Our Songs” at 10am and 11.30am. This mini jukebox musical features original short stories, deftly crafted by award-winning lyricist Xiaohan, and classic nursery rhymes we grew up with, and is set to get everyone to groove and sing along.
Snacks and drinks will also be sold at Practice Tuckshop during the event.
So come join for a joyous musical journey!
