Fostering creativity and celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics through children picture books!
Connecting books with hands-on activities can help to enhance children's reading and also inspire them to create and explore. Children love picture books. What better way to introduce them to S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities than through a good book?
The Tinker Yard carefully selects quality children literature and uses those books as a springboards for children to delve into a world where they can tinker, build or just mess around with ideas. Sessions would include a reading or revisit of the book, free exploration, and guided tinkering.
Sessions run four Saturdays a month from 10am to 11.30am and kept at a low adult-child ratio of 1 faciltator to 4 children, maximum 8 children per session.
