Tinker Fest is a bi-annual event organized by Science Centre Singapore
We connect children, parents, educators and makers in a week-long celebration of the joy of learning through play, exploration and experimentation.
The theme “Go Wild!” explores the intricate interaction of animals and their environment through engaging hands-on activities, workshops and talks.
This November theme coincides with the Science Centre’s new travelling exhibition Living Worlds: An Animal Planet Experience.
Collaborating with local agencies of biodiversity and conservation, Tinker Fest hopes to invoke the seed of change to cultivate a caring generation to appreciate our natural world around us.
Rediscover the beauty of biology through appreciating biodiversity and construct a caring attitude towards conservation!
These activities are free for all ages. Simply walk in, create one or two or more activities and the best part is you could take it home! Our activities are open from 10:00am to 5:30pm.
1. CAMOUFLAGE ME
Let's hide-and-seek! Create an animal that blends well with the background.
2. FLAPPITY WINGS
Flap, flutter and off it flew! Invent your own spectacular winged creature.
3. BUZZ BOTS
With a coin battery and a small vibrating motor, let's design a buzzing insect.
4. CLIMBING CREATURES
Race you to the top! These creatures can race up strings by friction and alternating tension/slack.
5. HUMMER HARMONICA
It's all in the vibrations! Using a tensed rubber band, we can blow on it to create pitched sounds.
