Join us for our annual World Pangolin Day as we raise awareness of the pangolins, with a series of activities for everyone.
The pangolin is the only living mammal in the world that possesses scales on its body. An estimated one million pangolins have been poached from the wild in the last ten years. Their scales are used in traditional chinese medicine where it is believed to cure various ailments, and their meat eaten as delicacy in China and Southeast Asia. Despite the lack of scientific evidence for their medicinal value, the pangolins are still the most widely traded mammals on the black market.
Through the following series of free activities for children to adults, we hope to raise awareness about pangolin conservation and how everyone can play their part to protect the pangolins.
