Created by visual artists Nathania Zaini and Lim Shu Ning, the installation Ra Ta Ta Tum comprises of soft sculptures.
Suspended in the Theatre Cones, characters reminiscent of circus activities such as trapeze artists in action, jugglers, acrobats, clowns, animals, magicians and hoops lie suspended between geometrical shapes. The conical nature of the Theatre Cones suggests the Big Top—a large tent in which a travelling circus takes place—and imbues passers-by with a sense of child-like wonder. Apart from bringing a whimsical playfulness to the pedestrian thoroughfare, the installation which celebrates the colourful circus stage, reflects the special place that the performing arts occupy in our lives.
