March will be a month of excitement and anticipation, as the wait for blossoms to come into full bloom begins!

These beautiful and transient flowers, known for their unpredictable blooming, are back in Flower Dome with the “Blossom Bliss” (粉色之恋) floral display.

This year, there will be more trees spread out around the conservatory, as well as new varieties that will be on show for the first time. If you visited last year’s display and were captivated by charming varieties such as the Prunus Accolade, an example of quiet beauty with its simple, pale pink flowers; or the unusual weeping form of Prunus subhirtella Pendula trees, they will be back again this year. The pretty hues of pink and white will be showcased in a Japanese-inspired landscape that features a picturesque tree-lined pathway and traditional rickshaws for the perfect photo opportunity.

Visitors may pre-book their tickets online and are encouraged to check Facebook for updates on the state of flowering before they visit.

Tips for a Blooming Good Time

Visit on weekday mornings. Enjoy prime sakura views without the crowd for greater enjoyment.
Don’t wait too long to visit, as sakura are transient and blooms only last for about one to two weeks.
Beat the queue and pre-book your tickets online
Keep warm. Flower Dome's temperature is cooler than usual for the best blooms, so be sure to dress accordingly.

Blossoms to Look Out For

Prunus Accolade

A popular and prolific cultivar producing abundant pale pink flowers.

Prunus Autumnals

Also known as Higan Cherry, this popular cultivar produces delicate clusters of white to pale pink flowers. This species is unique in flowering sporadically during the autumn as well as profusely in the spring.

Prunus Fujishidare

A weeping cherry tree with flowers that start out white and turn pink as they mature.

Prunus Autumnalis Pendula

The weeping version of Prunus autumnalis, with a distinct umbrella shape.

Prunus Fukubana

This small, showy tree produces profuse clusters of rich pink flowers.

Prunus Kikushidare

This weeping cherry tree has large, light pink flowers that resemble Chrysanthemums, hence “Kiku” in its name, which means Chrysanthemum in Japanese.

Prunus Yedoensis

Also known as Yoshino Cherry, this Japanese favourite produces classic white flowers that have five petals.

Prunus Okame

The bright pink blooms of this cultivar have a mild fragrance. It is traditionally one of the earliest cultivars to bloom, signalling the beginning of the sakura season and warmer weather.
