Shaw Theatres Jewel will open with fresh new offerings for cinema-goers

First in Singapore: IMAX's next-generation hall featuring IMAX with Laser
First dedicated family hall in Singapore (Dreamers)
First DTS:X sound capable halls in Singapore
New exclusive premium movie-going option (Lumiere)

Shaw Theatres is pulling out all the stops with its latest cinema at Jewel Changi Airport, which will boast a number of new offerings for cinema-goers. Shaw Theatres Jewel will open on Wednesday, 17 April 2019, with Singapore's first next-generation IMAX hall featuring IMAX with Laser, Singapore's first dedicated family hall (Dreamers), first DTS:X sound capable halls (selected halls), and a new exclusive premium movie-going option (Lumiere).

Mr. Mark Shaw, Director, Shaw Organisation Group of Companies, said: "We are staying true to our commitment to bring our patrons the best cinema experience. When we open a new cineplex or update an existing location, we aim to deliver class leading levels of comfort and technology. Our latest IMAX theatre at Shaw Theatres Jewel is equipped with IMAX's next-generation laser projection system and immersive sound technology that will deliver the best experience possible. At present, there are less than 15 such theatres around the world!”

Mr. Mark Shaw added: "We also understand that our patrons would like to have more theatre going options, so, our new Dreamers offering builds on our monthly Movies With The Little Ones programme catering to families with young children or just the young at heart; and, our other new concept, Lumiere, will serve those looking for a little more luxury and comfort while enjoying the latest blockbusters with the latest DTS:X sound system.”

In total, Shaw Theatres Jewel has 11 screens, comprising of an IMAX theatre, two Lumiere screens, a family-friendly Dreamers screen, and seven regular screens.
