In the lush environs of the gardens, let’s indulge ourselves with an evening of rest & relaxation with families.
Bring your picnic blankets and baskets to the Eco Lake Lawn to enjoy everyone’s favourite musical – The Sound of Music. Inhale the fresh air and sing-along with Maria and her uniformly musically gifted 7 children!
Arguably one of the most famous musicals of all time, “The Sound of Music” tells the story of Maria, an intrepid and irrepressible novice nun-turned-governess, who turns a naval captain’s regimented household topsy turvy with music. In so doing, she unites the von Trapp family, and gains the love and adoration of the 7 children, including their widowed father. Set in the days of Nazi Austria, see how the power of music overcomes fear and propels the von Trapp family over the Alps to seek new beginnings.
This movie won the 1966 Academy Award for Best Picture & Best Director (Robert Wise), Best Sound (James Corcoran & Fred Hynes), Best Film Editing (William Reynolds) and Best Music, Scoring of Music, Adaptation or Treatment (Irwin Kostal).
