Art and Ecology – Fun Prints with Marine Debris

Art and Ecology – Fun Prints with Marine Debris

Join us to explore Singapore’s marine biodiversity this school holidays through art and science!

As part of “Beneath tide, Running forest”, exhibition curator Dr. Wang Ruobing is conducting a workshop where children can create artworks through printmaking. Get ready for a hands-on session in giving marine litter a new lease of life through art, while learning about our natural heritage! Held in conjunction with International Year of the Reef 2018, the workshop will include a guided exhibition tour by the curator and an introduction to marine biodiversity by NParks. All materials are provided and participants will be able to bring home their artwork.

About the curator:

Dr. Wang Ruobing is an artist, curator and researcher based in Singapore. She lectures in McNally School of Fine Art at Lasalle College of the Arts, and had received her Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford. She was previously a curator at National Gallery Singapore. Her research concentrates on environment, identity, hybridity, and transcultural discourses with a special focus on the contemporary art in China and Southeast Asia. In her art practices, Ruobing often uses everyday objects to challenge ways of seeing and comment on the process of knowledge acquisition.
