The Chinese circular fan has a long history traced back to the ancient Chinese court. Over millennia, Chinese fans have evolved from an accessory for daily use to an artefact that incorporates the essence of various forms of arts and culture. The use of Chinese circular fan further brings out the beauty, noble and elegance of Chinese Classical dance.

We welcome you to join our Founding Artistic Director, Madam Lim Moi Kim, to immerse in the beauty of Chinese culture.

大师系列 —— 团扇舞韵

导师：林美琴

宫扇又称团扇、纨扇，作为工艺品的团扇，本身就凝聚着诗、书、画的朦胧优雅神韵。在与中国古典舞蹈身韵相结合的基础上，突出神韵，令含、仰、冲、拧、靠、提等动作得以升华，在遮遮掩掩、半遮半掩中体现舞蹈的含蓄美和朦胧美。

特邀您们跟随新加坡华族舞蹈剧场创团艺术总监、本地舞蹈家林美琴老师一起来体会藏在这古朴俊逸的团扇形态中的深厚文化内涵。

About Our Facilitator

Born in Singapore, Madam Lim Moi Kim is recognised by the arts community for her artistic excellence and contribution and commitment to the Singapore Chinese dance scene.

She is the founding Artistic Director of Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Dance Troupe, Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) and former lecturer at the LaSalle College of the Arts, Dance Faculty. She is presently an Artistic Advisor of SCDT and Adjunct Lecturer in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Dance Department.

With years of hard work and perseverance, Madam Lim has earned a fine reputation for herself in the dance industry. She has often been invited to choreograph for prestigious national events, been invited as an external examiner or adjudicator for dance examinations and competitions, and invited to work with important bodies such as the Ministry of Education. In 2018, Madam Lim was formerly invited as an overseas dance lecturer by the Yunnan Arts Institute Affiliated Arts School.

Apart from dance, Madam Lim is also a veteran Chinese opera performer and instructor. She is highly regarded for her outstanding performance and is a respectable figure in the Chinese opera community.

She is also a dedicated and knowledgeable martial arts practitioner who has come under the tutelage of many renowned professionals.

导师简介

林美琴老师，出生于新加坡，本地著名舞蹈艺术家，新加坡福建会馆舞蹈团创团艺术总监，新加坡华族舞蹈剧场创团艺术总监，云南艺术学院附属艺术学校客座教授，历年在新加坡南洋艺术学院舞蹈系客卿讲师。

从小爱好表演艺术，对戏曲、舞蹈、武术、音乐等领域均有广泛涉猎。1970年开始习舞，1976年加入新加坡武装部队文工团，为全职舞蹈员。为了对舞蹈有更深层的专业认识，曾追随多位名师学习中国古典舞、中国民族民间舞、芭蕾舞、现代舞、爵士舞与现代舞编导技法。随后远赴中国北京舞蹈学院、广东实验现代舞团、黔南州歌舞团、昆明市民族歌舞团、云南省歌舞团、北京中央民族学院等单位交流进修，并于1993年在新加坡福建会馆基金的赞助下前往北京、上海、广州及汕头等地的歌舞团和少年宫进行全方位多角度的舞蹈考察工作。

经过多年刻苦的学习钻研，考获南洋艺术学院高级舞蹈教师文凭、北京舞蹈学院中国舞等级考试及中国民族民间舞等级教师资格证书。
