To promote the Finnish education system, Suomi Finland 100 Singapore (SF100SG) will organise "A day in Finland - Finscape event" for children and adults.
Finscape is an exciting learning experience simulating an escape room challenge. By solving clues, riddles, and puzzles related to Finland the children are encouraged to work together and deepen their knowledge about Finland.
Finscape promotes collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking - the four C's of 21st century learning. The activities are designed and led by a team of Finnish teachers.

The registration is open for children born in 2007-2009 and can be accessed here.
The event can accommodate first 100 registered children and is free of charge. Free Finnish school meal is provided for the registered children.
Adults will be entertained with lectures conducted by top educational professionals from Finland.

- Mrs Maarit Rossi
Paths to Math, Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize Finalist 2016
Mrs Maarit Rossi is a math teacher, CEO of Paths to Math Ltd and former secondary school principal. Last year Maarit Rossi was one of the top 10 finalists for the Global Teacher Prize and in 2017 part of the jury at the Global Teacher Prize Academy. Maarit Rossi is driven to prove math is not boring but challenging, stimulating and fun - a tool to make sense of the world rather than a list of rules. Her students often learn outside the classroom by taking unconventional approaches to real-life problems. With a colleague she met on a Fulbright teaching exchange, Maarit Rossi produced Paths to Math, a website offering Math resources in three languages. She ran STEM subject projects for the Economic Information Bureau for Finnish Industry, forging close links with schools in other countries, and worked as Project Manager for the EU New Opportunities for Women program.

- Mr Peter Vesterbacka
Finnish entrepreneur, Founder of Rovio (Angry Birds) and Brand Breaker at Lightneer
Mr. Peter Vesterbacka served as the Chief Marketing Officer and ‘Mighty Eagle’ of Rovio Entertainment Oy. Peter managed the Rovio Entertainment’s business strategy, including expanding Angry Birds into broader entertainment franchise. TIME magazine chose to include Peter Vesterbacka in the 2011 list of the world's hundred most influential people. Peter has held several communications industry related positions at Hewlett Packard and founded the Hewlett Packard Mobile E Services Bazaar and he is the co-founder and original initiator of MobileMonday. He served as a Director of Star Wreck Studios, Start Up Sauna, BlueGiga Technologies Oy, Oy Filmkompaniet Alpha Ab and the American Chamber of Commerce in Finland. On June 21, 2016, Peter Vesterbacka decided to leave Rovio Entertainment, and work as an investor and advisor to growing companies. In September 2016, he announced the start of educational gaming company, Lightneer.

- Mr Dylan Soh
TEDx Singapore 2015 Speaker, Illustrator, Avid Questioner
Dylan at 5, start asking questions like, "Why am I here? Am I the son you thought you would have? What kind of children do you think I would have?". At 6, he famously said to his father, "Dad, don't always say 'No' to me. Let me live a little." At 10, he presented his first Ted X in SMU on the Future of Urban Farming, titled Fertile Concrete. The Dean met him and said, "When you grow up, maybe you might come here to study." To which he replied, "Maybe. I haven't decided what I want to do yet." At 12, he was the opening speaker for Ted X Singapore. He said adults like him grew up in a world of yes, but somewhere along the line, it became a world of maybes and then a world of no. So he told them a story about the Big Red Dot and how they could rediscover their mojo. He's since acted in an SG 50 urban farming commercial, wrote a feature article for Esquire magazine to his future son, and is about to crowdfund the GIY stick, the grow-it-yourself self watering stick that we created and manufactured locally. He's been invited to speak to the global marketing head of P&G, regional heads of companies and most recently gave the opening speech to National Reading Month. He likes to skate, plays the guitar and can make a mean aglio olio from scratch. Dylan is an average student in school. Very average.
- Finnish Education System
Finland has been amongst the top countries of education for several years. Many countries have been interested to learn more about Finnish education system and people from all over the world have come to visit country to get ideas for their own curriculum and practices. However, you can not export National Curriculum as such from one country to another, since it is always a child of a specific country to whom the curriculum is delivered. Finnish people, are very proud of their education system and theye are very happy to share best practices with others. There is always something you can take home and tailor to suit your curriculum and teaching practices. That is the way they have created own National Curriculum– being open minded and constantly developing it, to make it even better.
