Goodbye Animals: Workshop and Storytelling with Darel Seow

Goodbye Animals: Workshop and Storytelling with Darel Seow

Children's Workshops

We might not have lions (except in tales), but Singapore used to be home to many wild tigers and leopards! At this workshop for ages 7 to 12, Darel Seow introduces you to some local endangered and extinct animals that we share this island with. You’ll learn how to draw them and create a simple pop-up diorama which will explore our impact on the environment and the relationship we have with our non-human neighbours.

Darel Seow is a visual storyteller who illustrates the tales of the natural world through his unique brand of wry wit and whimsy. He believes in the draw of storytelling as a means of engagement, creating experiences that simultaneously excite and educate. Particularly interested in museums and culture, he has worked with art, cultural, and educational institutions to encourage learning through the power of imagination and play.

Goodbye Animals is part of The Vanishing, Or Time Goes Away, the final chapter of The Substation’s 2018/19 programme Cities change. People die. Everything you know goes away.
