How We See the Child
Our 'little minds' are creative thinkers and strong-willed fighters; they are always making meaning out of the world they live in through modelling and imitation. However, as the world of today and tomorrow is changing at an alarming pace; especially in terms of technology innovation. Many children are often seen to be immersed in the commercialised and online world. The African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child" presented the fact about parenting. A child should be given the rights and opportunities to explore beyond his or her immediate family; making a connection and playing meaningfully in the real and dynamic world one lives in.
What is Play?
Play is about having the empowerment and rights to lead and explore wonderings. Play creates opportunities for self-awareness and open-mindedness; self-regulation of emotions and feelings as one play together or alongside with others, taking risks while exploring causes and effects. Play is a platform for imagination and creativity. Play comes naturally for everyone; regardless of who you are, where you are from or how old you are. Lego foundation emphasized, " These natural-born skills are the same capabilities that enable children to become lifelong learners, however, to fully flourish, these skills also need to be nurtured, supported and developed as children grow."
Our Story
We are mothers, teachers and adventurers brought together by friendship but first and foremost by passion for early childhood. In our classrooms, and in our own homes, we witness how fast children grow and develop. From mere Observers, they evolve into TINY Explorers constantly on the move, discovering their world through PLAY. As mothers, we naturally want to provide the best experiences to support our children’s development. But the challenge is HOW?
How do we support our children’s learning during the most crucial period of human development? How do we maximise world’s unlimited resources to promote PLAY?
Tiny Feat believes in the power of play. We see children as TINY beings who are capable of experiencing remarkable FEATS of learning accomplishments and triumphs throughout the whole early childhood and beyond! Tiny Feat strives to create play opportunities and environments that promote exploration and hands-on learning. Tiny Feat is about appreciating the work of these Little Minds. We celebrate creativity. We embrace the “mess”!
