March Holiday Workshops @Act 3 International

March Holiday Workshops @Act 3 International

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, written 129 years ago, is a collection of classic stories all told within the Seeonee jungles of India.

It vividly describes the exciting and courageous journey of a young boy, man-cub Mowgli, as he is raised by animals in the jungle. Some of them, like Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, and Father and Mother Wolf become his best friends whilst others, like the terrible tiger Shere Khan, become his sworn enemy.

Written as an inspiration for his first daughter Josephine, Kipling wanted to share the importance of life lessons with his readers. His stories, which capture human behaviours and archetypes within animal characters, impart moral values such as respecting all living beings and following important rules and laws.

Our one-off and 5-day workshops are fun, unique, engaging, nurturing and specially created for children from 18 months to 7 years of age. Working and cooperating with other children, your child will learn to think outside the box and make decisions, improve language and speaking skills, develop the ability to focus, and most importantly, build confidence to perform in front of family and friends.

Jungle Jam

  • For ages 18 to 36 months with Parent

Explore the exotic jungles of the Seeonee hills in our immersive and highly engaging performative workshop! Be spellbound as our performer-teacher whisks both you and your child on an adventure of sound, sight and imaginative play. Move to the beat of the drums, feel the senses of the elements, and meet Mowgli and his band of friends along the way. Create, experience and discover the wonders of storytelling through the magic of Theatre and Play!

Where’s Mowgli?

  • 5-Day Workshop
  • For ages 3 to 4

The animals have always abided by the laws of the jungle, except for Shere Khan, the terrible tiger. One day, the animals find a baby lost and alone in the jungle. When he goes missing, they team up and work together to look for him. But where is Mowgli?

During the week, with the guidance of our Drama Educator-in-role, your child will experience making a show with other children, working together as an ensemble, and building confidence in using choral voices to play the animal characters from the story. To wrap up the entire week of great fun, the children will showcase the piece complete with upbeat music, dance, movement, songs and rhymes, just for you!

The Red Flower

  • 5-Day Workshop
  • For ages 5 to 7

On a warm windy night in the untamed jungle, the roaring of Shere Khan, the tiger, can be heard. He is hungry and looking for his next prey. But Mowgli and the animals know that the only thing that can scare Shere Khan is the Red Flower – fire made by man!

It’s all about making a performance in our unique week-long workshop. Our Drama Educator will encourage and support your child in skills building and development throughout the week. Learning to use basic Drama tools to communicate both verbally and nonverbally, the children will collaborate and make creative choices through exploration, play building and rehearsals. With a mishmash of storytelling, rhyme and dramatisation set to an exciting soundscape, the children’s hard work will culminate in a performance on the very last day.
