  • Future World: Where Art Meets Science

Date: Saturday 3, 10, 17 & 24 June

Boundaries between art and technology are becoming increasingly blurred as new grounds are broken in digital artistic expression. Discover the ideas and themes in this permanent exhibition through this series of lively spotlight talks. Join for interactive play happening at various exhibition zones.

  • The Universe and The Art

Dates: Family Fridays 9, 16 & 23 June
Timings: 3:00pm

Explore the exhibition in a playful tour especially designed for young minds, and ponder what the future might look like if we were to share our Earth with other creatures.

The Universe and Art is an artistic voyage through the cosmos, exploring where we came from and where we are going. It weaves a rich constellation of Eastern and Western philosophies, ancient and contemporary art, and science and religion, to explore how humanity has constantly contemplated its presence in the Universe.

  • Make Your Own Cyanotype Universe Workshop

Dates: Family Fridays 2 & 30 June
Timings: 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Venue: Rainbow Room, Basement 2

Get ready for your mission to outer space by completing a series of exciting and hands-on activities in this one hour workshop. Race against time and find out if your space agency has what it takes to launch a space mission.

SGD 8 per participant. Up to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • FabCafe Workshop: Make Your Own: Robotic Art

Dates: Family Fridays 9, 16 & 23 June
Timings: 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Venue: FabCafe, lobby of ArtScience Museum (meet at the Fab Counter)

Build your own robotic arms powered by hydraulics, and explore creating artworks using these lasercut cardboard robot arms. What makes a robot and what can be considered art? Can a machine have a creative mind, or an intelligent arm? Made of laser cut wood, and an easy-to-build hydraulic system of syringes and tubes, you'll get to bring home your robotic arm at the end of the workshop.

A ten-year-old girl, separated from her parents, went on a liminal journey through the realm of spirits in which nothing is what it seems. A pair of young orphans with a magic crystal race against pirates and agents in a search of a legendary floating castle. Two sisters encounter mythical creatures that inhabit the nearby forest, which become part of the unfolding of their daily life. A celestial princess born inside a stalk of bamboo does everything she can to determine her own destiny.

In conjunction with Children’s Season, ArtScience on Screen presents a season of extraordinary, award-winning animated classics from iconic animation company, Studio Ghibli. Look forward to four masterpieces of astounding visual beauty and imagination from the unrivaled dream factory running from 9 June to July.
