If you've ever wondered what the heck lochiae are, why on earth babies would turn yellow, how much milk your baby really needs and how many poos you're supposed to tackle in the first week, this is the talk for you!
Let's talk about post-partum healing, what to expect in the days after birth, remedies for post-partum recovery, creating a nurturing environment for both mum and baby and how to get breast feeding off too a good start.
They will be covering physiology of mom and baby, common routines and procedures at the hospital and how to set yourself up at home. You will also be able to learn about a variety of breastfeeding positions so you have plenty to choose from and are hopefully more confident trying them out when baby is finally here!
As usual for BumpWise talks, they will also share contacts for experts in the postpartum period, like IBCLC, osteopaths, physios, paediatricians and postpartum doulas, so you can reach out to them should you or your baby need further support.
This workshop is run by Johanna Wagner, herbalist, naturopath and doula, and Tessa Webb Lyman, certified breastfeeding specialist training to be an IBCLC.
Your contribution for this 4-hour workshop is $200 per person (if your partner can make himself available, he's welcome to join at no extra cost). This will cover a delicious and nutritious lunch, drinks and an informative handout for you to take home.
