Risk, Resilience and Responsibility

Risk, Resilience and Responsibility

Risk, Resilience and Responsibility: A Play Workshop for Parents and Educators.

Children have a biological, psychological and social need to play! This workshop will include discussions on how parents and educators of young children (and babies!) can support children’s intrinsic drive to learn through play.

Through being empowered to move and play freely, children develop resilience, responsibility and problem-solving skills to name just a few. Over-scheduling and over-protecting may impede children’s natural development of self-motivation, confidence and creativity.

Join and explore the amazing benefits of child-directed play, and learn about ways to foster independence, experimentation and risk-taking in child-led play.

Overview:

  • What is true play?
  • How babies and children naturally learn through movement and play
  • The role of caregivers and educators in fostering children’s resilience and ability to assess risk in order to play responsibly
