Empire Code Summer Coding Camps


Join us in our coding camps! Students will learn about environmental sustainability, solve challenges and come up with real-world solutions using Technology and Science.

 

Learning to code helps the younger generation understand how technology works while strengthening logical thinking skills, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration – all of which are useful for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math!

CODING & ROBOTICS

  • Ages 4 to 7
  • Available on campus only

Clean up the ocean in ScratchJr, and watch it come to life through LEGO Robotics. Empire Code is a FIRST LEGO League competition award winner for the junior age group in 2020 & 2021. An iPad-only course.

In this camp, students will learn:

  • Coding concepts such as sequence, loops and event blocks
  • Create animated stories and games in ScratchJr
  • Build animals and make it move with code
  • 3D spatial awareness

Sensory Math

  • Ages 5 to 7
  • Available on campus only

Our fun Math enrichment program is available for children to prepare for primary school, or ace their Math in Primary 1 and 2. With our experienced trainers, your kids will learn mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills in a fun way through hands-on learning.

Science with Strawbees

  • Ages 6 to 10
  • Available on campus only

Take it one straw at a time and save the earth! Kids can establish their STEM foundations by learning how to build 3D solutions to conserve the earth. What’s most exciting is to combine their models with code to watch their creations move! A laptop-only (Windows/Mac) course for ages 6 to 10.

Code with Tynker

  • Ages 7 to 9
  • Available online and on campus

Suitable for beginners, students can embark on an exciting journey with Tynker and create their own games. Using Tynker, a visual drag and drop programming platform, students can explore their creativity whilst building their foundation in coding. The most fun part: you can animate your own projects with Tynker’s Physics Engine like gravity and collision. An iPad-only course.

Micro:bit and Science Camp

  • Ages 7 to 12
  • Available on campus only

The BBC micro:bit is a small palm-sized computer to help children as young as age 7 learn the purpose of IoT (Internet of Things). This same device is used in Singapore’s local primary schools to teach science in Primary 4, 5 and 6. An example of IoT technology is the Apple watch.

With Scratch, expand your child’s creativity as they create their owninteractive stories and animations. Scratch is a popular coding software from MIT and provides animation as well as special extensions such as audio and visual sensing. A laptop-only course.

Minecraft Coding

  • Ages 8 to 12
  • Available online and on campus

Join us and create a sustainable city with Minecraft: Education Edition, the programmable version of Minecraft by Microsoft. Be your own designer and developer of your own game! Prior coding experience is not required. A laptop-only course.

3D Printing

  • Ages 8* – 19

See the characters that you designed using Blender come to real life! With 3D printing, students learn how to translate 2D sketches to 3D models. Students can bring home their 3D printed models!

In this camp, students will learn:

  • How to use Blender and understand its interface
  • To convert models from Blender and prep it to print on a Slicer software
  • The principles of modelling
  • Engineer concepts as well as hardware and software of a 3D printer and its functions

Roblox Coding

  • Ages 9 to 19
  • Available online and on campus

This is where you go beyond playing your favourite Roblox games and be the designer of your own game! With the programming language Lua, kids get a glimpse of creating and publishing their own games. Be an environmental hero and create your own sustainable city!

Stop-Motion Animation

  • Ages 9 to 19
  • Available on campus only

Lights, Camera, LEGO! Stop-Motion Animation is a widely used concept in the film industry to portray a story. In this 10-hour camp, students will learn to create their very own videos using LEGO bricks, figurines, and the latest film software. Suitable for beginners.

PYTHON FOR TEENS

  • Ages 13 to 19
  • Available online and on campus

School breaks are great for picking up new skills. Learn the basics of software development, animations, and games through Python! Python is a popular computer science language because it is easy to learn.
